NICHE Training and Education Programs

NICHE Training and Education Programs include three curriculums designed to provide the most current knowledge and skills in geriatric care to bedside nurses, patient care associates, and hospital personnel.

• 2008 Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) Core Curriculum based on the 2008 geriatric nursing protocols book, Evidence-Based Geriatric Nursing Protocols for Best Practice, includes a 14 topic curriculum, each with a fully scripted power point presentation, post test, handout(s), and appropriate Try This issue(s)

• 2009 Gero Patient Care Associate (GPCA) Core Curriculum is under development and will be released in 2009

• 2009 Introduction to Gerontology: Interdisciplinary Curriculum includes four modules designed to increase hospital personnel’s sensitivity to the aging process, improve the recognition of age related changes in older adult patients, and enhance communication skills
